Dear Colleagues,
From September 30th to October 2nd, 2021 the 16th German Allergy Congress will take place again in Dresden in the International Congress Center. Located in the center of the baroque old town and near the Elbe, the light-flooded and spacious rooms offer us ideal opportunities for a face-to-face event.
The introduction of vaccination and the developments resulting from it give rise to realistic hopes that we will be able to meet in large numbers and with meaningful hygiene requirements. In addition, the very good experiences in 2020 with a hybrid concept prompt this to continue in addition to the congress on site in 2021 and to make the congress accessible online at the same time. In this way, the advantages of personal encounters and direct contacts can be combined with the extended availability for new participants via a comprehensive website. What was “born out of necessity” has proven itself and is therefore to be further developed with the 2021 German Allergy Congress.
The well-known and proven formats such as AllergoPlenum, AllergoActive, AllergoCompact, AllergoConnect and AllergoBasic are offered as in the previous year. With optimism that the restrictions will then be lifted, intensive discussions are to be held again in the AllergoArena.
The German Allergy Congress is a forum for scientific exchange at the highest level. But it is also the German-language platform on which current science is translated into practical application in everyday life. New ideas can be developed here, research impulses should find their origin here, but political impulses to improve the care situation for allergy sufferers should also come from this congress.
Thus, with the German Allergy Congress, the experienced specialists in clinic and practice are addressed in the same way as the young colleagues who are looking for their way into allergology. The three major German allergological societies, the GPA (Society for Pediatric Allergology and Environmental Medicine eV), the DGAKI (German Society for Allergology and Clinical Immunology eV) and the AeDA (Medical Association of German Allergologists) have been successfully organizing the congress for years. The goal of the GPA as the lead company in 2021 is therefore that this time too, an intensive exchange beyond the specialist and age limits will further advance allergology. You are cordially invited to take part.
The conference motto “ For an allergological climate change ” should, on the one hand, naturally run through the contents of the lectures and seminars and form a thematic focus; this may deliberately be understood ambiguously. As is well known, an exciting scientific and medical field that is relevant for allergology is opening up here. On the other hand, one aspect of the motto should be reflected in very concrete steps towards the sustainable and resource-saving organization and implementation of large conferences. Be curious about it.
