About Bedfont^® Scientific Ltd.

August 2023 saw the opening of Bedfont’s Well-being garden, built in memory of 2 previous employees that sadly passed away in 2022. This space looks to offer a relaxation area during breaks.

Bedfont^® Scientific Ltd. became the manufacturer of a new PEMF device, CELLER8^®, sold by NewMed Ltd. The CELLER8^® delivers magnetic therapy using electromagnetic fields and is used to improve overall general wellness as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Bedfont^® welcomed its local MP, Helen Whately, to its offices in the summer of 2023. Helen explored the product range display, unveiling the evolution of their creations. These visits hold great significance, instilling pride in Bedfont^® as they proudly exhibit their remarkable work.

The NObreath^® range celebrated 15 years of aiding in the management and diagnosis of asthma. In aid of this, a new logo was created.

Bedfont^® Scientific Ltd. work hard to be carbon conscious, sustainable and eco-friendly, and in February 2023 had solar panels installed. This is a huge investment for Bedfont^®, and one they hope they will hugely benefit from.

Bedfont’s NObreath^® device for airway inflammation has been cleared for sale in the USA. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared the NObreath^® FeNO device for use in monitoring airway inflammation.

Bedfont^® is recognised for its innovation for the 2nd year in a row at the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce (KICC) Awards in November 2022. Kent’s esteemed businesses gathered at Westernhanger Castle for the annual awards to celebrate the achievements of Kent companies.

The SteriBreath Eco was launched in 2022. It has been made from a sustainable source and can now be recycled. Bedfont^® also have a team of Eco Warriors who are there to encourage and promote Bedfont^® as an Eco friendly company.

The long-awaited Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce (KICC) awards took place on Thursday 18th November, and named medical device manufacturer, Bedfont^®, as Innovative Business of the Year.

Bedfont^® signed an ODM deal to supply Kangdu with it’s NObreath^® FeNO device. Shenzhen Century Kangdu Medical Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2017. The company is located in Pingshan District, Shenzhen, focusing on the R&D, manufacturing and sales of respiratory testing medical devices.

Bedfont^® launched its new iCOquit^®; a portable, personal Bluetooth^® Carbon Monoxide (CO) device to help people quit smoking, which is helping Stop Smoking Services to support their patients remotely during the Coronavirus pandemic.

On 8th December 2021, Kent Med-tech company, Bedfont^® Scientific Ltd. celebrated 45 years of business with a 1970’s themed fancy dress party.

In 2021 the Hybrid Working Policy was introduced. This allowed employees to split their time working from home and in the office. Bedfont^® recognises the importance of having a good work-life balance.

In 2019, Bedfont^® took an executive step to create a Medical Advisory Board for each of its product ranges. The board features Key Opinion Leaders and clinicians who will help Bedfont^® to further innovate the devices, whilst offering valuable insight and opportunities into research and clinical studies involving their devices.

In 2019, The Bedfont^® Family won its first-ever National business award. The ceremony took place at Wembley Stadium, where Bedfont^® were awarded the silver category for Technology and Innovation. This is a double win for Bedfont^®, being recognised as a Family business and as a Technology business on a national scale.

The Gastrolyzer^® range has been helping to detect gastrointestinal disorders for over 30 years now!

The long-awaited NObreath^® was launched in September 2018 at the European Respiratory Congress in Paris. The new NObreath^® possesses several new features including SteriTouch® anti-microbial technology, an onscreen flow-meter, and verification of a successful test, and much more.

In 2018, Bedfont^® won the South East Exporter of the Year accolade at the Federation of Small Businesses Awards. This was the first regional recognition Bedfont^® ever received, which they shared with their 82 distributors, including their very first distributor from Austria.

The NObreath® range celebrated 10 years of aiding in the management and diagnosis of asthma.

After becoming a 2nd generation family business, Bedfont^® embraced family values in office and distributor relations. This led to a rebrand in February 2017, changing the NOxBOX^® range’s green bubble to purple for NObreath^®. The new slogan emerged: “Our family, innovating health, for yours.”

In 2016, Bedfont signed a 3 year ODM deal with LABORIE, a large, international company, to provide an own-branded version of their Gastrolyzer® products. Laborie’s large and successful sales network in Europe and the USA has opened new markets for Bedfont’s products that would take years to access due to the resources required.

The Smokerlyzer^®, Gastrolyzer^® and ToxCO^® ranges had a complete redesign. This included a fresh new look, brand new features, and an easy to use full-colour touchscreen.

The Smokerlyzer^® turned 30 years old – that’s 30 years of helping people quit smoking worldwide!

In 2016, Bedfont celebrated 40 years of business, and also became a 2nd generation family business, as Jason became Managing Director, taking over from Trevor, who became Chairman.

NOxBOX^® Ltd. is created as a division of Bedfont^® and is later sold to Fortune 250 gas company, Praxair Inc, allowing Bedfont^® to concentrate on the core business of breath analysis.

Bedfont^® moves to its current bespoke offices in Harrietsham, Kent to aid in further expansion.

The NObreath^® FeNO device is launched following 5 years of development. The device is used to aid in the diagnosis and management of asthma.

Bedfont^® develops a new logo, slogan, and new product range branding.

Bedfont^® sells the gas division as its demand for medical devices grows and demands more focus.

Bedfont^® moves to Rochester, Kent, to be closer to public transport and to allow the company to expand.

The ToxCO^® range is established using the knowledge of CO monitoring from the Smokerlyzer® to aid in diagnosis of CO poisoning.

Bedfont® works with Dr Ray Latimer to create a nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide monitoring system for pulmonary hypertension; the NOxBOX^® range is born.

Bedfont^® Scientific Ltd. is established and the company becomes 2 divisions; the Bedfont® gasses division and the medical division. Along with the name change came a new logo and slogan.

The Fumigation range is launched with the EC80 phosphine and methyl bromide device to fumigate gas for safety and peace of mind.

Trevor becomes Managing Director. The Smokerlyzer^® was found to pick up cross-sensitivity of hydrogen, a gas which can indicate digestive issues, and so the first Gastrolyzer® was developed to monitor hydrogen and help detect gastrointestinal disorders.

The first distributor was appointed by Trevor to introduce Bedfont® products to a global market place.

Princess Diana demonstrates the Smokerlyzer® as patron of the British Lung Foundation to encourage people to quit smoking.

Trevor Smith joined as Marketing Director in order to expand the gas range and market the world’s first Smokerlyzer® breath carbon monoxide (CO) device, to help people stop smoking. Bedfont® is now based in Upchurch, Kent.

Bedfont Technical Instruments Ltd was established by Dr John Marron. The business was based in London and the first product was the TM3, used to measure piped medical gases. Bedfont® was also a non-refillable gas business.
